You said what?!

You said what?!

"Remember you can only be away for a year, or you will loose your rights" Around there my heart stopped, and I started to google.

To be in one of the best countries in the world, means you just can’t do whatever you want to. Which kind of sucks, but at the same time it makes sense. Cause my plan is to be traveling for two years, but according to "Membership of the National Insurance Scheme" I can NOT travel for 2 years without coming home.

About now my mom will be smiling, but I think this is just minor setback. But it is important and not just say, "what ever" because to loose all of your rights, that can have big consequences. I know this is very specific for someone who is planning to travel for longer than 12 months, so all of this information you will find here.

And of course it is written very weird, but I have applied and done this:

  • Started my own "company" so I can pay money to my self, so it looks like I have an employer. (I am renting out my house whilst traveling, which is my only income)
  • Applied for a volunteer membership, hopefully it will be approved, so I dont need to change my travel plans too much.
  • Make sure the reasons for why I need this is because I need to bring all of you with me on this crazy trip, and of course the great collaboration with JCI.

I will update you, on how this went.

At the moment I am a bit stressed, combined with "just breath" I know it will kind of work its way. I just need to be openminded, ask for help a lot, and make sure to check all things twice.
