It all started with a bang
Well, kind of. Because I never planned to travel the world before this happened. I never thought that I would be single either, but here I am.
November 2018
I leave from work early because the internet doesnt work, I was all ready in the car when my boss came running with some posters and told me to put them up at the store. Thook the ferry, stopped at the store. I was hungry but too tired to bother with the shopping. I just wanted to go home.
I remember seing my friends house then all is black until I "come to my self" in the car. There is a man sitting beside me, there is a lot of commotion around me, but I have good knowledge of what had happened. I can remember a lot of questions about what happened. And I continue to answer the same question over and over.
What happened?
"It was an accident, it was no ones fault, the left tire of the truck exploded."
The impact of our collision was so massive that the houses nearby was shaking, "everyone" understood that something awful had happened, it was not the first time there was an accident on this road, but I think this is the most random one. The tires of the truck was 3 weeks old, the driver was a local man and the roads were dry. Still his left front tyre exploded so he lost control of the truck as it was headed straight at me.
Everything is kind of in a blur, but I remember the man in my car as very stressed, like he is worried about me, and I thought thats too bad, lets tell him a joke so he calms down!
There was a man stepping into a taxi, he explained where he was going, but after a while he tapped the driver on his shoulder to get his attention.
The taxidriver almost lost control of the car and was hyperventilating.
"What on earth is the matter with you?" said the passenger
"You see, this is my first day of driving a taxi. And I have been driving a hearse* for 20 years.
Hearse*
A hearse is a large vehicle, originally a horse carriage but later with the introduction of motor vehicles, a car, used to carry the body of a deceased person in a coffin at a funeral, wake, or memorial service. They range from deliberately anonymous vehicles to heavily decorated vehicles.
In the funeral trade of some countries hearses are called funeral cars or funeral coaches.

Everything is somewhat in a blur, but I remember a lady on the outside of my car, she was pasing back and forth. I am not sure if it was before the ambulance came, but I asked "Can you call my husband and ask if he could be bothered to go to the hospital?" (Thats how you know your relationship is amazing ππ π)
And a voice near my head tells me. "Keep calm, we will get you out of there." I felt no pain so I just said "Take your time, I am sure you can make it."
"Now it will be some loud noises." He said.
And I answerred "Dont worry I work in an industrial area, trust me noises is not a problem."
Then I noticed a shift in his voice. "But you see, you are stuck..."
"Well then I hope you have some drugs" This is the last thing I remember from the accident.
It could have been so much worse, normally people dont survive head on collisions. And my 18 year old car from 2000 did excactly what it promised. Keeping me alive, and with functioning airbags!
Of course I was hurt, and quite badly but all in all I have had angels on my side, no doubt.
Fast forward some weeks, I am now screwed together and the life outside hospital is filled with wheelchair and crutches. A lot of physiotherapy. And a divorce. So when life changes it course, there is no need to moap around. Find new stuff, new joys, and embrace life to the fullest! Which gives you my three rules:
- I just want to have it ok.
- If its not fun, then its not worth it.
- Life is too short for lousy sex.
And now is it only one year left before I go. Crazy as it seems. september 2024 is aproaching very fast!
